Pebbles' Story: Pebbles used to live with another cat but has been single for some years. Sadly his owner died and the family who live fairly close have been managing him in an empty house since July22. The family couldn't secure a Cat Rescue place and heard of us so contacted. Rescue Remedies offered Pebbles a Rescue place. Pebbles is neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Pebbles was in Gatwick Cattery whilst awaiting his new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our cats, please complete our Cat Homing Questionnaire. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new cat within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay cats: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our cats need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our cats back-up for life.
Pebble's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our cats, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information: Pebbles family contact and asked for help. They had problems securing him in a cat carrier as Pebbles is a little shy with other than the people he trusts. 28th they got him into his owners bedroom and he co-operated willingly and got into the cat carrier.
Pebbles came into our Rescue 28th Dec 22

Spent some time with pebbles, he didn't venture out of his bed but I managed to stroke him quite a lot with no aggression or any sign of concern on his part, so it's a good start.

Pebbles was sat in the outside run when I went in to visit the cats.
He kept himself outside until a gentle persuasion from the rustle of a treat bag bought him in to investigate.
He’s very quiet, not much of a talker but happily receives gentle strokes.

Sorry hadn't realised I hadn't videoed Pebbles. He went to the vets during the week as he got a little infection on his skin, because we noticed it late Friday, by the time we were able to get a Vet appt. it had already improved. He however was easy to manage in the Vets and had an AB and Anti-inflammatory injections. He is much improved since then.
Such a quiet reserved cat but just know he is waiting to give his love to his new people. He used to live with another cat in his past, so a cat friend would suit Pebbles very well.

Last time I met Pebbles he would not leave his basket so didn’t get much interaction. Today we made progress. He loves a treat and really seems to want to interact but still a little nervous. Gentle coaxing and time gets him to come over. Few treats managed to coax him to the opening and then slowly a tickle under the chin. A little tickle behind the ears then…. Rolling on his belly. So lovely to see. Slow and steady wins the game. This little fella is so cute and worth investing time on.

Pebbles is such a lovely cat. Beautiful nature and such a cutie. A little nervous with new people but well worth taking your time with and gaining his trust. loves being stroked, a chin rub and gentle attention. Such a little sweetheart and think will be a little treasure with his own ‘special person’ to love. Hope he gains a forever home soon x

Having cuddle time with Pebbles today, he certainly is starting to gain confidence with people he knows. He is a gently boy and loves head tickles.
Shy to start with but making good progress.
