Jessie's Story: Jessie was found abandoned playing with other dogs in an exercise area. Jessie's original owner traced who no longer care for her. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Jessie is now neutered, chipped, and undergoing vaccinations. Jessie came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick and in foster mixing with 2 other dogs whilst awaiting her new family.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £300 (£500 for a pup under 1 year old, and £500 for certain pedigree dogs). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Original referral information: We were called from a Vets who had Jessie handed in but the dog warden couldn't take in as she was clearly abandoned as opposed to stray.

I picked Jessie up from the vets on Thursday evening, where she greeted me with full bum wiggles.

She travelled beautifully on the 30 minute drive home. Once we arrived, we brought my two out for a walk together. After the initial barking, everyone settled nicely. Johnny did tell her off a couple of times, but Jessie didn’t react at all, she simply ignored his behaviour, and within 24 hours they were playing together! She has also been very well mannered around food with my two, but does like to know what we are eating

Jessie sleeps soundly through the night in her bed beside mine, and will jump up on the bed in the morning for cuddles.
She is housetrained and will go to the door to let you know she needs to go out.

She does pull a little on the lead but it’s very manageable, and although she can be a bit barky when she first sees another dog, once she’s allowed to meet them she’s absolutely fine and just wants to play.

I only agreed to have Jessie overnight, but she is such a sweet, easy girl to have around, she will be staying with us until her forever family come along.

Jessie was at the Rescue today after her visit to the vet so couldn’t resist saying hello and taking a few pictures of her.

Jessie is very friendly and more petite than I had expected.

She is also very beautiful and has such a smiley face.
