Paisha's Story: Paisha was taken to the vets to be put to sleep no fault of her own. She was abandoned and the owner just dumped her. The Vet surgery had already made investigations and a man came to take her in and save her life, while searching for a Rescue place. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Paisha will be neutered, chipped, and is undergoing vaccinations. Paisha at our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting her new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our Dog Homing Questionnaire. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £300 (£500 for a pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Paisha's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.

Original referral information: 21.5.26:
Good evening Lynne and thanks for your email.

My friend, a vet had let me know of this dog that was ready for euthanasia as the owner being homeless soon. As the dog was in Maidstone it was the most easy way to foster temporary the dog. I also have a spare room and a garden. Of course she is isolated in that room and my little old dog and the cat, when she goes to the garden are closed in the kitchen.

The owner being me the dog, he shot photos of me with the dog, he wrote in a piece of paper that transfer the "property" to me (!!!) he also send me the ref of the previous vet. I have the phone of this man and the car plate number (just in case).

Thats it. I live in SE London.

The girl is very sweety, finally she have confidence with me even is difficult to convince her to go to the garden, in fact just made a poo and wee in the room and now i have to clean, but this is not a problem. I want all the best for this girl, not certainly another dog to euthanasia.

Any help is welcome please.

Thanks Mario

Well hottest day of the year and we suddenly had a kennel vacancy over night, knowing what I had to fit in tomorrow I decided it was operation "Collect Paisha!"... :goodjob.gif:

Hot roads and 20 mile an hour roads I ventured into London to twist and turn and find myself outside Mario's house. I thanked Mario profusely for on a turn of a coin he arranged to meet the owner and save her life as he had a spare room ready to devote to Paisha. We prepped the dog mobile then he introduced me to his beloved Yorkie who he found on the streets of Italy only 30 mins later Mafia characters appeared looking for him. He held his tongue knowing he was safely with his parents. Not many people have rescued a dog from the Mafia and got away with it! Sadly his dog has mouth cancer and at 16 years old has little time left.

Mario has formed a wonderful relationship with Paisha and she has learnt to trust him. Paisha is a big girl probably 50 kilos and as soft as Americian Bulldogs can be. One minor technicality Mario thinks she is in season!

Paisha jumped into the dog mobile easily, after a long drink of water. She then got into the large crate which I was really pleased about as I would have all the windows down as we sped around the M25.

Paisha is now settling into her kennel and has put her social diary up on the wall.

Lynne introduced Chris and I to Paisha yesterday. Paisha is a beautiful, soft girl, who’s still adjusting to her new environment. A lot has happened in this girl’s life. We had a chilled walk around the grounds and she took it all in her stride. We first went to the big paddock, where Paisha had a good look around. She then took us to the small paddock, clever girl. I’m sure that this girl will blossom in RR’s care.

I met and walked lovely Paisha for the first time today. Lynne kindly readied her while I was returning Selwyn from a walk, so she was all set to go once I had done that.

My first impressions were that she's still settling in - while she gently accepted my sausage treat, her focus was clearly elsewhere. We headed off without any issue but she was very unsure about going through the usual exit gate and backed off somewhat. Having just met her, I didn't push the issue and instead headed for the alternative exit; this also involves a gate, but is a slighlty different setup.

Again, she was a unsure, but with some words of encouragement and the gentlest of "heaves" she was through it. I made the mistake of letting it slam behind us though, which made her jump, but some gentle words of encouragement soon remedied that.

Despite a bit of drizzle and the odd rumble of thunder, she then walked perfectly. She trailed me for the most part, but her head was level with me on occasions.

She is a very sweet girl and is simply finding her feet at the moment, as is so often the case with new arrivals. I have no doubt that she will soon settle in to her new surroundings and that her confidence will grow. I also suspect she'll have many fans within no time at all!

Not the greatest of photos, but here's what I have:

I’ve been lucky enough to walk Paisha a few times this week. She’s a lovely soul, gentle and a little timid but once she’s out she loves a walk. She walked well with Boo behind her into the woods, had a nice sniff and said ‘hi’ to a few walkers when we came back. She is a delightful, sweet soul and I so hope she finds her furever home soon.
