Current Status: Available
Honey's Story: Honey was surrendered as her owner couldn't care for her anymore. She can be fearful of strangers coming in her home. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Honey is neutered, chipped, and undergoing vaccinations. Honey came in to our Rescue Centre nr Gatwick whilst awaiting her new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our Dog Homing Questionnaire. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £300 (£500 for a pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.
Honey's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original referral information: We are asked to help Honey as she needs a supportive home

Ive been spending some time getting to know Honey, she is sooo sweet.
She absolutely adores a bum scratch!! Her personality is starting to come out the more she settles into being at RR. She can sit, paw and lie down.
She is fine around other dogs doesnt batter an eye lid!
she really is a sweet little girl🩷

I met lovely little Honey today, such a sweet girl. She’s still settling into life at RR and although she’s a little nervous she warmed up to me pretty quickly and let me give her a good bum scratch and some treats. We went to the woodland paddock and it was lovely to see her character come out a little as she got more comfortable with me. We then had a walk down the lane and she was such a good girl. Looking forward to getting to know her more and watching her character blossom.

I have had 2 lovely walks with Honey this week. Honey is such a sweet girl, keen to make friends and happy to accompany me on a walk. She is a little anxious but a gentle hand and a soft, encouraging voice and she is reassured and ready to take on the world. She listened to my voice and was so responsive, I found her a delight to spend time with. Sometimes she walked slowly, took her time to sniff and look around and take everything in, and other times strode ahead confidently. Honey seemed very confident and comfortable passing other dogs and a horse. She loved a stoke and a cuddle, and seemed to find this very reassuring. She also loves treats and will sit of her own accord and take them gently.

Honey has grown in confidence since being showered with love at RR.
She greets me at her kennel with suchhh a wiggly bottom and her tail getting ready to take off!
She is much more confident on her walks now, she will always check in with her walker and likes to be reassured. We even went on a little run today and her bottom was wiggling the whole time and had a cute little smile on her face.
As much as Honey is up for a adventure she will sit and have you give her TLC for as long as you give it! Honey is so sweet and is such a lovely girl to be around🩷
