If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our Dog Homing Questionnaire. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £300 (£500 for a pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.
Beryl's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.

We can’t wait to meet you Beryl!

Re: Beryl Cane Corso DofB TBAss RRemedies Centre
There was no one spare to take Beryl when the Transporter arrived, so I had the pleasure of her company for an hour. She was very nervous and almost frozen to the spot. After about 30 mins Claire arrived with Danny and Beryl took great confidence from his presence: even daring a walk up the lane. By the time we got to the road, her tail was up and she was noticeably less stressed. I think she'll do fine. I'll get there early tomorrow so I can get 1st dibs on her.

Aah, thank you Stephen - she looks like a real sweetie!

Beryl understandably very nervous but coming along even after just 1 day. Today she willingly followed the handsomest Sootstar - who wasn't particularly bothered with her presence.

Beryl cowered in the back of her kennel again today, but she was also wagging her tail: Taking a little treat from James we then set off. It's daunting for her at the moment but she followed the routine from yesterday. She walked on her own around the grounds and then up the lane and back. All good.

I met this girl for the first time today! WHAT A BEAUTY. She is a very nervous girl and clearly doesn’t have much trust in humans which broke my heart
I sat in her kennel for 20 minutes just talking to her so she got to know the sound of my voice and giving her treats. I then managed to get her out of her kennel. We went for a walk around the kennel grounds and had a seat on the bench whilst we watched the world go by. I did get a few tail wags from her but not many and she didn’t seem to want to much fuss. She didn’t how ever show a very high interest in other dogs! When ever we saw another dog her tail would come out from being tucked between her legs. I cannot wait to watch this girls confidence grow and soon realise people can be trusted and that she deserved to be loved, which she really does as she’s a sweetheart
Welcome to RR sweet girl xx

Walked this adorable girl today. She’s extremely nervous, so I sat in her kennel for about 20 minutes not approaching her, and throwing treats her way (away from me) until she came and laid down not too far from me. I eventually was able to stroke her and put her leads on her and she was still nervous during her walk but she did extremely well and didn’t protest. She seems interested in dogs although we didn’t get close, and nervous of people. I think she’d be great on a group walk when she’s easier to get clipped up with her leads. I would love to see what she’s like with dogs properly as I think a calm, human friendly dog could really give her a confidence boost; maybe time will tell with that! She’s a stunning, little lady and I’m sure more time with us will give her a confidence boost!

BE BRAVE, LIKE BERYL
I can’t believe what a difference a day makes. Beryl is still very nervous of humans, I think she has had a very tough life before coming to us. Yesterday, I spent awhile trying to get her out and she was very scared, today was different in such a small way but progress is progress. Today I approached her kennel and I saw a wagging tail. She still isn’t certain on me and I still need to take my time when it comes to putting her lead on, but I did it quicker than yesterday which means next time I’ll hopefully be able to do it even quicker until we can just get ready for walks like I do with any other dog I walk, quick and easy. I am more than happy to give this sweet girl every bit of patience that she could possibly need because today I began to see her cheeky side. In the paddock, she got some very impressive zoomies, and she is so nosy checking absolutely everything out. Next time I walk her, I’m going to try and take her on a group walk because she seems to be really calmly interested in other dogs. I think this would bring confidence to her. She is beyond adorable and I can’t wait to see her come out her shell.
