Russet Blk and Wht DofB 2019 Farnborough
Russet Blk and Wht DofB 2019 Farnborough
Current Status: Homed
Russet's Story: Russet was found stray in North London. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place. Russet is neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Russet came into RescueRemedies being given temp foster whilst awaiting his new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our cats, please complete our Cat Homing Questionnaire. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new cat within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay cats: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our cats need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our cats back-up for life. Russet's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our cats, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information: Hi Lynne, Here are the 2 boys for the spaces. Russet (and Earth) I am sorting vaccinations hopefully as soon as possible.
Russet - black and white male DSH around 6 years old, unsure how long he was on the streets for he was in a bad way with bloody wounds all on his back, his fur has mainly all grown back and is soft and thick now. He's more of a quiet and cuddly boy and will be ready for a home quicker.
Russet eats Purina 1 dry sensitive tummy only. I tried various foods with him even royal canine gastrointestinal, the Purina 1 dry sensitive tummy works best for him, vets said he may have a bit of IBS but with a diet that works for him he should be good.
They are both neutered and chipped done by CPL. Flea'd and wormed by the vet. Thank you, Gx

Early pictures and details:
Here are some pictures of Russet's wounds and fur when he arrived in December. He just has a scar left now. He had about 5 different wounds, brittle fur thin and fur loss, ear mites etc. Gx

Russets first night and I’ve left them be. He is more confident of the two and mooches around curiously. He doesn’t mind being picked up and seemed to like a cuddle on my lap today! He used the litter tray (I assume it was him as Earth hadn’t moved from his corner) and otherwise has been chilling. Very placid and calm

Russet loving a belly tickle from Georgie (judging by the purring!) who is kindly fostering him and Earth until they are vaccinated. Gorgeous boy

Russet is a very affectionate boy, he doesn’t mind being picked up and I have a feeling he is very cheeky and mischievous. He’s food orientated, very calm and seems to keep himself occupied easily. He’s getting on well with his new roomie Earth well!

Re: Russet Blk and Wht DofB 2019 Tunbridge Wells Temp Foster
Russet has come a long way since I’ve fostered him. He’s a really affectionate boy who runs to the door when I come to see him. He wants to be around us all the time. When we pick him up for a cuddle he melts into you and purrs away until you put him down. When he lays next to you, he places a paw onto any part of you to be close. He’s playful with toys and runs around after the little balls we have. My partner has really fallen in love with him and if we thought our cat would get a long with him we would have him in a heartbeat.

Molly chose Russet as her cat and met him today and she was delighted.
Our thanks to Gemma for rescuing him and making him safe and Georgie for looking after Russet for us

Thought i’d give everyone a wee update on little Russ!! He’s settled in so unbelievably well. I couldn’t imagine life without him now! He’s so cuddly and affectionate, always uses his litterbox, and has even accompanied me on a trip back home to Scotland where he’s been lounging in the grass of the Scottish Highlands. I’ll pop some pictures for you to see as he looks great. Healthy and happy!!
